It was also the year where hong kong became china’s biggest investor and as a way to answer labour shortage, female migrant workers from the Philippines were steadily hired by the Hong Kong government.

Forced Labor Migration.
A country who is dependent on overseas remittances, regardless of how high its dollar reserves are, is still a country in crisis. Â The government has fostered a dependence on Overseas employment that it has focused its effort to send its best people outside of the country, stripping the Philippines of its intellectual and creative assets.
