Marex and Vanishing Island

During our Samal Island Adventure, on our first day, after touring the Monfort Bat Caves, we headed to Marex Beach Resort for lunch.  I told Olan, Marex sounds like a sex diary movie flick…in lined with Xerex.  He snorted, suppresed a laughter and motioned for me to behave.  Turns out, Marex is the resort owner’s name. Awts!

It’s a simple resort with one big pond amidst its cottages.  You can rent the little huts in the middle of the pond, if you fancy fishing without having to leave to catch some in the open sea.  But we are not there to experience a fishing  bonanza, we are there because Marex Beach Resort is our jump off point towards Vanishing Island.

    Leah: Leah says “It is also a good location for photo shoots, in fact, my first photo shoots in Samal was in Vanishing Island. I was with two other photographers and four models. We could not find an apt location for the “Sweet Summer Skin” shoot anywhere in the Island until we found the little sanctuary in the middle of the sea. It is so in the middle of the water that the view is just spectacular. Anywhere you go is just perfect ^.^ ”

    Kasama ako at ang sister ko at that time.I met Leah few days pa lang after sa Seminar.. :)
    So sad lang I accidentally delete the photos in my mini camera. :(
    I got a great shots from far away while the photo session are going on. ha ha…. :)

    By the way Ley..I love the 3rd photo from the top.. :) Nice shots.. :)
    Sana sinali mo na rin yong net ng Volley Ball.. :) It will add to the composition…Super summer,at the beach… :)

    Yes, I remember Vanishing Island well. Your first photo shoot..who knew what it would lead to then. Great post Lay, I have wanted to go there with you ever since back then…and yea, we better stay all night, I will protect you and its just wayyy too cool to leave at 4pm. I want to go even more now, your quite a travel writer now.

    Hi, how much is the boat rental to Vanishing Island? How do I get to Marex?

      Marex is in Sitio Baybay in Barangay Tambo…it’s 20 minutes away from Babak District. It is five minutes away from the renowned Monfort Bat Cave. I am not sure how much is boat but i would think it is affordable. Cottages range from 800-5k
